+QUEEN MUM (f, 2, Paynter–For Royalty {SW}, by Not For Love) fired a best-of-83 four-furlong bullet in :47 2/5 at Churchill Downs Sept. 5 and took some play here at 3-1. She didn’t break all that cleanly from her inside draw and was outsprinted early in seventh through an opening quarter in :22.00. The dark bay began to motor once guided to the outside about five wide on the far turn and came rolling down the center of the course in the stretch to graduate by 1 1/2 lengths. Cosmic Burst (Violence) was second. Queen Mum becomes the third winner for her freshman sire (by Awesome Again).
